Description
Ethicon VICRYL RAPIDE™ Undyed USP 3-0 (W9923) is engineered for procedures requiring reliable wound approximation with predictable, short-term tissue support. Manufactured from polyglactin 910, this braided synthetic absorbable suture provides excellent handling characteristics, secure knot placement, and a fast absorption profile.
VICRYL RAPIDE™ retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 5 days, with minimal remaining strength by 14 days, and is typically fully absorbed within 42 days. This rapid absorption profile helps minimise prolonged foreign material in tissue and can reduce or eliminate the need for suture removal—particularly beneficial in veterinary patients.
The undyed suture material minimises tissue marking and supports improved cosmetic outcomes. Its braided construction ensures consistent handling and dependable knot security. Supplied with a 19 mm Reverse Cutting Prime needle (3/8 circle), this configuration offers precise tissue penetration with reduced cut-out risk compared to conventional cutting needles, making it particularly suitable for skin closure.
