Description
Ethicon VICRYL RAPIDE™ Undyed USP 4-0 (W9922) is engineered for procedures where delicate tissue handling, predictable absorption, and minimal long-term foreign material are critical. Manufactured from polyglactin 910, this braided synthetic absorbable suture provides excellent handling characteristics, secure knot placement, and a rapid absorption profile suitable for superficial closures.
VICRYL RAPIDE™ retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 5 days, with minimal remaining strength by 14 days, and is typically fully absorbed within 42 days. This fast absorption profile supports improved patient comfort and reduces the need for suture removal—particularly beneficial in veterinary and outpatient settings.
The USP 4-0 suture size is optimised for fine tissue approximation and improved cosmetic outcomes. The undyed suture material minimises tissue marking, while the braided construction ensures consistent handling and dependable knot security.
Supplied with a 19 mm Reverse Cutting Prime needle (3/8 circle), this configuration provides precise penetration of skin and firmer tissues with reduced cut-out risk compared to conventional cutting needles. Individually sterile packed, VICRYL RAPIDE™ W9922 delivers trusted Ethicon performance for routine veterinary and medical wound closure.
