ETHILON™ Black USP 2-0 (W1626BH) is manufactured from polyamide (nylon), a synthetic, non-absorbable monofilament material recognised for high initial tensile strength, minimal tissue reactivity, and smooth passage through tissue. The monofilament construction reduces tissue drag and limits bacterial harbourage, supporting clean healing and predictable closure.

As a non-absorbable suture, ETHILON™ is well suited to procedures where longer-term wound support is required or where planned suture removal forms part of post-operative management. The USP 2-0 size provides increased strength for higher-tension closures while maintaining controlled handling.

The black colour enhances visibility against tissue for accurate placement and knot management. Supplied with a 26 mm Reverse Cutting Prime needle (3/8 circle), this configuration is optimised for skin closure, offering precise penetration and a reduced risk of tissue cut-out compared with conventional cutting needles.
