Description
The Orbit SP50 Veterinary Syringe Pump is a compact and versatile syringe driver designed for controlled delivery of fluids and medications in veterinary practice.
The pump supports a wide range of compatible syringe sizes and provides adjustable infusion rates up to 1500 mL/h, depending on the syringe size and operating mode. Its compact design and intuitive touchscreen interface make it suitable for use in veterinary clinical environments where controlled and repeatable fluid delivery is required.
Key Features:
- Compatible with 5 mL, 10 mL, 20 mL, 30 mL and 50/60 mL syringes
- Flow rates from 0.10–1500 mL/h, depending on syringe size
- ±2% system accuracy at ≥1 mL/h
- ±5% system accuracy below 1 mL/h
- Adjustable bolus function
- KVO (Keep Vein Open) function
- Adjustable occlusion pressure
- Dynamic Pressure System (DPS)
- Micro Mode with adjustable maximum flow rate
- 4.3-inch full-colour touchscreen
- Automatic VTBI and infusion time calculations
- Rechargeable lithium-ion battery
- AC and 12 V DC power options
- Compact 1.7 kg design
- Flexible Infusion Control
The Orbit SP50 provides several operating modes to support different veterinary applications.
Rate Mode allows the operator to set any two of Rate, VTBI and Time, with the pump automatically calculating the remaining value.
Time Mode calculates the required infusion rate from the selected volume and infusion time.
Body Weight Mode allows dose-based calculations using patient body weight, drug concentration, dose rate and VTBI, helping simplify weight-based medication administration.
Syringe Calibration Service
Vet360 Supplies offers an optional calibration service to the specific syringe make and size used by your veterinary practice.
Different syringe manufacturers and syringe models can have different dimensions and mechanical characteristics. Calibrating the pump to the syringe being used can therefore help ensure the pump's delivery characteristics are appropriate for the selected syringe.
You can either:
Send us the syringe you use for calibration, or
Ask us to source the required syringe for you for an additional charge.
The correct syringe must be available before calibration can be completed.
Please select the calibration option when ordering if you require this service. Calibration may add approximately 1–2 working days to order processing.
If your practice routinely uses a particular syringe manufacturer or model, we recommend having the pump calibrated to the syringe specification before clinical use.
Safety and Monitoring
The Orbit SP50 incorporates monitoring and alarm functions designed to identify conditions such as high pressure/occlusion, low battery, syringe problems and system errors.
The operator should always confirm that the syringe brand and size selected on the pump correspond with the syringe actually installed.
The infusion site and delivery system should also be regularly monitored throughout use. The pump's alarm system should not be relied upon as a substitute for appropriate clinical monitoring.
Designed for Veterinary Use
With its compact footprint, touchscreen controls and rechargeable battery, the Orbit SP50 is designed to provide a practical solution for controlled syringe-based infusion in veterinary practice.
It is suitable for veterinary practices, hospitals and other clinical environments requiring controlled delivery of fluids or medications using syringe-based infusion.
