VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 1 (VCP9373H) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical site pathogens. This antimicrobial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation on the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This profile delivers reliable wound support during the critical healing phase in higher-load closures.

The USP 1 size provides substantial tensile strength for high-tension closures, including fascia and muscle layers. The violet colour enhances visibility in deep operative fields, while the braided construction ensures excellent handling and dependable knot security.

Supplied with a 40 mm tapercut needle (1/2 circle), this configuration enables smooth passage through soft tissue with controlled cutting through denser structures, making it ideal for robust tissue approximation in major procedures.
