MONOCRYL PLUS undyed USP 5-0 is a monofilament, absorbable surgical suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25 and coated with triclosan to inhibit bacterial colonisation along the suture line. It is engineered for rapid tensile strength loss and absorption when compared with longer-term absorbable sutures, making it particularly suitable for veterinary procedures where short-term wound support and rapid tissue healing are clinically appropriate. The monofilament construction provides smooth tissue passage, minimal tissue drag, and reduced capillarity, supporting consistent handling and secure knot formation.

The undyed (natural) colour is preferred in procedures where minimal visual presence of the suture material is desirable. Supplied at a length of 70cm, this fine-calibre USP 5-0 suture is well suited to delicate veterinary skin, subcutaneous, and superficial soft tissue closures. The 16mm 3/8 circle Reverse Cutting Prime needle features a cutting edge on the outer curvature, enabling controlled penetration through skin and tougher superficial tissues while reducing the risk of tissue cut-out. The smaller needle size allows excellent control and precision in confined or delicate operative sites.
