Description

MONOCRYL PLUS violet USP 4-0 is a monofilament, absorbable surgical suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25 and coated with triclosan to inhibit bacterial colonisation along the suture line. It is engineered for rapid tensile strength loss and predictable absorption compared with longer-term absorbable sutures, making it well suited to veterinary procedures where short-term wound support and efficient tissue healing are clinically required. The monofilament construction provides smooth tissue passage, low tissue drag, and reduced capillarity, supporting consistent handling and secure knot formation.

The violet colour enhances intraoperative visibility, particularly in deeper or less well-illuminated tissue planes, aiding accurate placement and suture management. Supplied at a length of 70cm, this fine-calibre USP 4-0 suture is appropriate for veterinary soft tissue and subcutaneous closure where precision and controlled tissue handling are essential. The 22mm 1/2 circle Taperpoint Plus needle features a reinforced taper design that improves penetration control through moderately dense tissues while maintaining the atraumatic characteristics of a taperpoint needle. This needle profile supports precise placement, reduced tissue trauma, and reliable clinical performance.
