Description
Ethicon VICRYL RAPIDE™ Undyed USP 3-0 (W9925) is engineered for procedures requiring dependable wound approximation with predictable, short-term tissue support. Manufactured from polyglactin 910, this braided synthetic absorbable suture delivers excellent handling characteristics, secure knot placement, and a fast absorption profile suitable for superficial closures.
VICRYL RAPIDE™ retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 5 days, with minimal remaining strength by 14 days, and is typically fully absorbed within 42 days. This rapid absorption profile helps minimise prolonged foreign material in tissue and can reduce or eliminate the need for suture removal—particularly beneficial in veterinary patients.
The undyed suture material reduces tissue marking and supports improved cosmetic outcomes. Its braided construction ensures reliable knot security and consistent handling. Supplied with a 16 mm conventional cutting needle (3/8 circle), this configuration is well suited to skin and firmer tissues, offering efficient penetration with precise control in smaller or more confined surgical sites.
