Description
VICRYL™ Undyed USP 6-0 (W9500T) is manufactured from polyglactin 910, offering predictable absorption, excellent handling characteristics, and dependable knot security. As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it provides longer tensile strength retention, making it suitable for procedures requiring sustained wound support during healing.
VICRYL™ typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This controlled absorption profile is ideal for fine tissue work where prolonged approximation and stability are required.
The USP 6-0 size is optimised for ultra-fine closures and high-precision surgical work. The undyed suture material minimises tissue marking and supports improved cosmetic outcomes, particularly in delicate or visible areas. Its braided construction ensures consistent handling and secure knot placement.
Supplied with an 11 mm Reverse Cutting Prime needle (3/8 circle), this configuration delivers precise penetration of skin and firmer tissues with reduced cut-out risk compared to conventional cutting needles—supporting controlled closure in very small or confined operative fields.
Individually sterile packed, VICRYL™ W9500T delivers trusted performance manufactured by Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson) for high-precision veterinary and medical wound closure.
