MONOCRYL™ Undyed USP 3-0 (W3439) is manufactured from poliglecaprone 25, a synthetic monofilament absorbable material known for its excellent handling characteristics, low tissue reactivity, and smooth passage through tissue. The monofilament construction reduces drag and limits bacterial harbourage compared to braided sutures, supporting clean healing and reliable closure.

MONOCRYL™ typically retains approximately 50–60% tensile strength at 7 days and 20–30% at 14 days, with absorption essentially complete within 90–120 days. This absorption profile provides secure support during the critical early healing phase while gradually reducing foreign material presence over time.

The USP 3-0 suture size offers a balance of strength and handling for routine soft tissue approximation. The undyed suture material minimises tissue marking and supports improved cosmetic outcomes. Supplied with a 26 mm tapercut needle (1/2 circle), this configuration combines a tapered body with a cutting tip, allowing smooth penetration of soft tissue with controlled cutting through denser tissue layers when required.
