VICRYL™ Violet USP 9-0 (W1703) is manufactured from polyglactin 910, delivering predictable absorption, excellent handling characteristics, and secure knot placement at extremely fine suture diameters. As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it provides extended tensile strength retention, supporting delicate tissue approximation during the critical healing phase.

VICRYL™ typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This controlled absorption profile makes it suitable for microsurgical procedures requiring sustained yet temporary wound support.

The USP 9-0 suture size is optimised for ultra-fine work where precision is paramount. The violet coloration enhances visibility in microscopic operative fields, while the braided construction ensures reliable handling and knot security despite the very small diameter.
