VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 3-0 (VCP998H) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical site pathogens. This antibacterial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This controlled absorption profile makes it well suited to procedures requiring reliable wound support during the critical healing phase.

The USP 3-0 size offers a practical balance between strength and handling, making it suitable for routine soft tissue, subcutaneous, and fascial closure in veterinary and medical settings. The violet colour improves visibility within the surgical field, while the braided structure provides excellent knot security and handling consistency.
