VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 2-0 (VCP602H) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical site pathogens. This antimicrobial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This predictable absorption profile makes it suitable for procedures requiring dependable wound support throughout the early and mid-stages of healing.

The USP 2-0 size provides increased tensile strength for moderate- to higher-tension closures. The violet colour enhances visibility in deep operative fields, while the braided structure ensures excellent handling and reliable knot security.

Supplied with a 26 mm Taperpoint needle (5/8 circle), this configuration is particularly well suited to deep or confined surgical sites, allowing precise access and atraumatic passage through soft tissue while maintaining excellent control. The 70 cm strand length offers flexibility for longer closure runs and deeper operative fields.
