VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 3-0 (VCP452H) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, delivering broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical-site pathogens. This antimicrobial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting reduced surgical site infection risk compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50 % tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This predictable absorption profile makes it well suited to procedures requiring reliable wound support throughout the early healing phase.

The USP 3-0 size provides a balanced combination of tensile strength and precision, making it suitable for routine skin and soft tissue closure. The violet colour enhances visibility in the operative field, while the braided construction ensures excellent handling and dependable knot security.
