VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 3-0 (VCP395H) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical-site pathogens. This antibacterial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50% tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This predictable absorption profile makes it suitable for procedures requiring dependable wound support throughout the early healing phase.

The USP 3-0 size offers a balanced combination of tensile strength and precision, making it ideal for routine skin and superficial soft tissue closure. The violet colour enhances visibility in the operative field, while the braided construction provides excellent handling characteristics and reliable knot security.
