VICRYL™ PLUS Violet USP 4-0 (VCP392ZG) is manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical-site pathogens. The antibacterial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard braided sutures.

As a standard absorbable VICRYL™ suture (not RAPIDE), it typically retains approximately 50 % tensile strength at 2–3 weeks, with complete absorption occurring within 56–70 days. This predictable absorption profile makes it well suited to procedures requiring dependable wound support during the early stages of healing.

The USP 4-0 size is ideal for finer closures where precision, minimal tissue trauma, and cosmetic outcomes are important. The violet colour improves visibility in the operative field, while the braided construction ensures excellent handling characteristics and reliable knot security.
