PDS™ PLUS Violet USP 1 (PDP9382H) is manufactured from polydioxanone (PDS) and coated with triclosan, providing broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common surgical-site pathogens. The antibacterial coating helps inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture, supporting a reduced risk of surgical site infection compared with standard monofilament sutures.

As a long-term absorbable monofilament suture, PDS™ PLUS retains a high level of tensile strength over an extended period, with gradual absorption typically completed by approximately 180 days. This extended support profile makes it especially suitable for fascial, muscle, and high-tension soft tissue closures.

The USP 1 size provides substantial tensile strength for large or high-load closures. The violet colour enhances visibility in deep operative fields, while the smooth monofilament construction minimises tissue drag, reduces tissue reaction, and resists bacterial wicking—complementing the antibacterial coating.
