Description

PDS PLUS violet USP 4-0 is a monofilament, absorbable surgical suture manufactured from polydioxanone and coated with triclosan to inhibit bacterial colonisation along the suture line. It is engineered to retain tensile strength for a prolonged period compared with faster-absorbing absorbable sutures, making it suitable for veterinary procedures where controlled, long-term wound support is required in finer tissue structures. The monofilament construction provides smooth tissue passage, low tissue drag, and minimal capillarity, supporting consistent handling and dependable knot security.

The violet colour enhances intraoperative visibility, particularly in confined or deeper surgical fields, supporting accurate placement and suture management. Supplied at a length of 70cm, this finer-calibre USP 4-0 suture is well suited to delicate veterinary soft tissue and fascial applications where precision and reduced tissue trauma are critical. The 20mm 1/2 circle Taperpoint Plus needle features a reinforced taper profile designed to improve penetration control through moderately dense tissues while maintaining the atraumatic characteristics of a taperpoint needle. The compact needle size supports precise placement in restricted operative sites.
