Description

MONOCRYL PLUS undyed USP 4-0 is a monofilament, absorbable surgical suture manufactured from poliglecaprone 25 and coated with triclosan to inhibit bacterial colonisation along the suture line. It is engineered for rapid tensile strength loss and predictable absorption when compared with longer-term absorbable sutures, making it well suited to veterinary procedures where short-term wound support and efficient tissue healing are clinically required. The monofilament construction provides smooth tissue passage, low tissue drag, and reduced capillarity, supporting consistent handling and secure knot formation.

The undyed (natural) colour is preferred where minimal visual presence of the suture material is desirable within the surgical field. Supplied at a length of 45cm, this fine-calibre USP 4-0 suture is appropriate for procedures where a shorter working length improves control and efficiency, particularly in skin and superficial soft tissue closure. The 19mm 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle features a cutting edge on the outer curvature, allowing controlled penetration through skin and fibrous tissues while reducing the risk of tissue cut-out. This needle profile supports clean wound edges and precise closure outcomes in veterinary surgery.
